Here at About Time IGs, our "Partnership Program", provides a unique opportunity that that gives our IG's an extra edge in socialization and care. We are not a kennel. IGs thrive on love and attention, and need lots of human interaction to mature with a healthy outlook/attitude. We'd love to take the time to share with you our secret for providing the care and socialization required to produce IG pups like ours - Puppies with happy stable temperaments that are confident and ready to face the world!

Our dogs are raised underfoot, in our home and yard, and each receives individual attention and care. Young puppies need to be well socialized to a variety of outside people and experiences as they grow, or they will mature timid, shy and afraid. We work together with the Essenmacher Family, providing a valuable partnership that is rich in experiences for each new pup in our program. Some of our adult dogs live with the Essenmachers, and are spoiled beyond belief as there are usually more willing laps than dogs to fill them! Puppies, born either at our home or theirs, are introduced to children and adults, cats, other dogs - both small and large, livestock, new places, the big wide outside world, and more. They grow up happy and excited to experience new things - not timid and afraid of every shadow that passes by.

I am the oldest child in the Essenmacher family, a very special (and very large) family of 14. All 12 children are/were home schooled by my most amazing Mom (and Dad, who teaches the advanced math and science). With a large home on 6 acres of land, animals in many shapes and forms have been a part of our family forever - horses, cows, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, geese, an occasional skunk, and more! The children love the IGs, and are very careful, respectful, and protective of "their" little charges.

When searching for a quality puppy to add to your family, most often you are limited to two options:

   1) A show breeder/kennel will provide you with a healthy quality puppy, but at what compromise in your pups early experiences? Such breeders produce quality dogs, but due to the nature of their operation most often it is impossible for them to provide a "home-raised" environment with individual attention for each pup.

   2) A backyard breeder will offer you a friendly home raised pup, but what about the quality of the dog and potential health issues you may face? These backyard breeders will often have a home-raised environment for your pup to grow in, but due to their lack of experience, will often breed dogs that are not of good quality or health, and may not take the extra time to socialize your pup properly anyway. Maybe they don't know any better. Maybe they just don't care. Maybe the bottom line is making a quick couple hundred dollars from a litter... They have no "reputation" to worry about like a large kennel, so who cares if your new pup's genetic problems end up costing you thousands in vet bills. They made their couple hundred bucks off you, they're done.
